Hello! We have been given the amazing opportunity to travel to Nakuru, Kenya with Youthlinc. This is Ellie's first Youthlinc experience and Lauren's third. Here we will be working to help construct trenches to avoid flooding in the school building, as well as teaching STEM English lessons to the children. Ellie will be a part of the Cultural Committee where she will help to plan the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the home visits, and the funfair that we have with the kids near the end of our trip.  Lauren will be over the Environmental Committee where we will work the educate the Kenyan people on how to live a more sustainable lifestyle, as well as planting trees and beekeeping!

Here locally we must participate in 80 community service hours. We will be doing the majority of our hours at The Abbington Senior Living Home. We really enjoy spending time with the elderly, and love hearing about their lives and all of their fascinating stories. We will be helping with senior outings, activities at the center, and hopefully getting to work with Alzheimer patients.

We are so excited to have been given this opportunity to go and learn all we can from the people of Kenya!

All donations are tax deductable. Thank you so much for all of your support, anything helps!!

Our account must be at the following amounts on the dates below

Dec 1: $1,000

ABOUT Kenya Participants

These social fundraising pages are for the exclusive use of Youthlinc Service Year participants. Any accounts created by individuals other than Service Year participants will be deleted and funds raised will NOT be returned to the individual or their donors.

Youthlinc is a Utah non-profit organization dedicated to creating lifetime humanitarians through local and international service. Service Year students contribute 80 hours of local service before their international service trip. In monthly meetings, students - mentored by adult professionals - take leadership roles in planning educational, community health, business development, vocational training and cultural exchange initiatives that are implemented in the small village of Kajuki, Kenya next summer.
