Hello family and friends! I am so grateful for the opportunity to travel with Youthlinc for my third year, this time to Kenya! My past trips have included Peru in 2018 and Guatemala during this last summer. My experiences with the Youthlinc service year and international trips have taught me invaluable lessons, and I have become very passionate about this focused, intentional pattern of service.
One major pearl of wisdom I've learned from my experiences is that there are opportunities to serve all around us--we need only look. Youthlinc has helped me learn how to look, how to recognize genuine needs, and how to fulfill those needs. I know that hands-on service creates meaningful connections and bonds between people, and these relationships can transcend language and cultural barriers.
I am forever grateful for the support my involvement with Youthlinc has received in the past. I ask for your help again to help me get to Kenya this upcoming summer. While in country, we will implement construction, education, vocational, business, and health lessons and projects, as well as experience a new culture by working and learning alongside the people in the village.

Youthlinc is a Utah non-profit organization dedicated to creating lifetime humanitarians through local and international service. Service Year students contribute 80 hours of local service before their international service trip. In monthly meetings, students - mentored by adult professionals - take leadership roles in planning educational, community health, business development, vocational training and cultural exchange initiatives that are implemented in the small village of Kajuki, Kenya next summer.
