Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, my service trip to Thailand was postponed and then canceled completely. The good news is, I was able to transfer to another team that is going to Kenya and I am ecstatic! In the past year, I have contributed to my community through service, totaling over 125 hours, and I will be continuing that service. I have donated and will be donating my time to Primary Children's Hospital, which has a special meaning to me as it was where I went through spinal surgery for Kyphosis. Because of the pandemic, I have not yet begun volunteering at the hospital again, so I have found other areas of service with organizations such as Interact Club, Special Olympics, PARC, and I have done COVID- specific work such as making masks, delivering food and helping with online events. Once in Kenya, I will be working on various committees including business, vocational, construction, education, cultural, and health. I feel blessed to know that I will be able to develop lifelong connections with people across the globe. I understand the lasting impact of my service and I can already see how much it will change my life. I also understand that I will not be able to do this alone, which is why I am asking for donations. Unfortunately, with the trip change, I now owe a bit more. I am eternally grateful for all donations that I have already received, and any future donations.

Youthlinc is a Utah non-profit organization dedicated to creating lifetime humanitarians through local and international service. Service Year students contribute 80 hours of local service before their international service trip. In monthly meetings, students - mentored by adult professionals - take leadership roles in planning educational, community health, business development, vocational training and cultural exchange initiatives that are implemented in a small village outside Chang Mai, Thailand next summer.
