Hello! My name is Carrie Coleby and I am a Senior at Mountain Ridge High School! I am once again working towards making the world a better place. I had such an amazing experience while in Thailand two years ags and it changed my life forever.  I wasn’t planning on going again this year, but once I came home I decided that I couldn’t wait to go again. This year I will be serving in a small village in Peru when travel bans are lifted and it is safe for our team to proceed. 

To be able to go, I will once again need your help. This year I will be endeavoring to raise $1,515 to go serve. Any donation you make, big or small, will help me to serve the people of Peru. You should know that because youthlinc is a nonprofit organization, any donation you make is tax deductible. Please consider helping me reach my goal and become a lifetime humanitarian. 

To fundraise for materials needed in-country, I will also be collecting clothing donations for the Big Brothers Big Sisters charity. They pay us by the pound for the clothing we bring in, so the more cloths I collect, the more good we will be able to do in Peru. If you have clothing to donate, please don’t hesitate to contact  me and I will come pick it up. 

Along with this, I will be contributing local service hours with Real Life, a peer mentoring program designed to help inner-city and refugee kids. I will be volunteering at the Historic Scott School in South Salt Lake to meet my goal of 80 service hours. I will also need miscellaneous service hours. If you know of a need that I can fulfill, please let me know.

Once again, thank you so much for your help. I love service, and I don’t know where I would be without it. When you contribute to my service year, you are not just  creating an impact on my life, but the lives of those people in Peru.

Youthlinc is a Utah non-profit organization dedicated to creating lifetime humanitarians through local and international service. Service Year students contribute 80 hours of local service before their international service trip. In monthly meetings, students - mentored by adult professionals - take leadership roles in planning educational, community health, business development, vocational training and cultural exchange initiatives that are implemented in a small village outside Pursat, Cambodia next summer.
