This summer from July 13- July 27th I am hoping to go on a trip to Mataso, Fiji. This village was directly hit by Cyclone Winston and is still recovering years later. There are approximately 180 villagers who are primarily subsistence farmers. One of our main projects is to build bathrooms onto existing homes to improve sanitation. I got to do a trip with youthlinc in 2016 in Madagascar and I know first hand the impact these trips can have in the lives of both the people visited and the people who go. I know I learned so much serving those wonderful people. I will always remember and love them. I want so badly the opportunity to learn and serve everywhere I go. Youthlinc is about building lifetime humanitarins. So this isn't a pleasure cruise you get to go on for just a few weeks. You learn how to do a lot of local service as well. You do at least 80 hours of service locally before the trip, and the impact it has on your life, both before and after is monumental. Please if you can help me make this dream come true, I will forever be grateful!
