Hello Everybody!

My name is William Anderson and this upcoming July I will be traveling to Pursat, Cambodia to serve the local people in construction projects and teaching English, vocational skills, health practices, and business skills. In addition to the service, we will engage in cultural exchanges to learn more about the lifestyle in Cambodia and to build a relationship with the people we serve. 

Last year I was able to go on a Youthlinc trip to Lele, Nepal. There, I was a part of the health committee and helped teach basic first aid, hygiene, and men's health to both the children and adults in the village. I was also able to hand out hundreds of hygiene kits to benefit those seeking help in the village of Lele. I also taught English lessons at the local school in the village. There I was able to work with children in kindergarten and teach them basic English words and grammar rules. I was also able to teach children in the fifth grade how to do multiplication and division problems and further their understanding of math principles.

The reason I was drawn back to Youthlinc and wanting to do another trip is so I can help more people around the world and make deeper connections with those I am going to serve. I will be acting as an Alumni leader this year and will be guiding first-year students while we are in Pursat. This will allow me to lead them and make sure they they have an amazing experience and hopefully drawn them to continue serving after the trip is over.
