Susan's Peru Fundraising Page

Hi everyone! I have always been impressed with my friend Jill Whitney, who goes to foreign countries as a peer mentor to youth who are learning leadership and humanitarian skills while serving those who are in need. I have decided to follow her example and go to Peru in July of 2021 as a nurse peer mentor on the health committee. I was going to go last year, but due to Covid, we couldn't go.

I love what Youthlinc is doing. They are helping to make lifelong humanitarians. They award scholarships. They help immigrants and refugees. Here's the website link if you want to see all that they are doing: https://www.youthlinc.org/   They are always looking for new humanitarians or mentors.

I am going to be a medical mentor. We are coming up with lots of ways to improve the health of the Peruvian village. We are gathering supplies to donate to them, working on helping them to be self sufficient, and our big project this year is to put in some cement pathways. It gets really muddy wear we are going.

I am very excited to be serving with Youthlinc! Thank you friends and family, for all the support and love you have given to me and my family throughout the years!

Love, Susan

P.S.  If you would like to contribute to my trip, this is my fundraising page.  I am short on my total amount.  It's tax deductible.   So I thought I'd ask. If you don't, that's fine, we can still be friends/family. I totally understand.

Another P.S. We are in desperate need of fabric, scissors, needles, thread, buttons, straight pins, and old sewing machines that still work that you don't want.  Thanks!

Youthlinc is a Utah non-profit organization dedicated to creating lifetime humanitarians through local and international service. Service Year students contribute 80 hours of local service before their international service trip. In monthly meetings, students - mentored by adult professionals - take leadership roles in planning educational, community health, business development, vocational training and cultural exchange initiatives that are implemented in a small village along the Amazon River next summer.
